Job Summary:
The Gebhardt Product Engineering team is seeking an enthusiastic advanced mechanical design engineer with 5+years of experience in design and commercialization of highly automated material handling products. This position requires a thorough understanding of the technical product development design process, through to the final installation and commissioning phases of these products. A strong emphasis on CAD 3D modeling, communication, and project management skills will be needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with teams to bring designs from conception to production.
•Create initial design concepts and develop detailed technical drawings and associated technical specifications.
•Conduct research to ensure designs are within American compliance according to ANSI and OSHA guidelines and standards.
•Create and oversee the development and testing of physical prototypes to evaluate performance and identify areas of improvement.
•Maintain current product portfolio and all associated technical documentation.
•All other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficient in MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Power Point, Teams, & Excel
Proficient in Autodesk Inventor Professional modeling software and SAP ERP system.
Strong written grammar and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and drive multiple projects through completion.
Ability to travel to our main and satellite manufacturing/assembly facilities, as well as our customer & vendor sites as needed.
Ability to collaborate with teams in the USA and Internationally.
Strong understanding in Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) principles
Strong understanding in creating and executing a test plan.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology, from an accredited University.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or in a related field.
Physical Requirements:
10%-25% travel per year.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
