Job Summary:
The Sr Sourcing Specialist is responsible for procuring material in the United States. Negotiate contracts to meet quality, customer service and financial targets. Work with Germany Engineering and Procurement to ensure same quality and pricing standards are met in the US. Travel to suppliers frequently to ensure quality.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Negotiate contracts with suppliers.
· Travel to suppliers on a weekly basis to find new suppliers who are able to meet quality, price and delivery requirements.
· Communicate frequently with Engineering and Procurement in Germany.
· Establish procedures for sourcing activities.
· Escalate
· Establish operational procedures for activities such as assembly, test, verification of incoming goods to quality specifications, verification of outgoing shipments, handling & disposition of product & materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current within SAP.
· Meets or exceeds daily production targets
· Maintains documents in ISO to retain certifications. Update policies and procedures as necessary.
· Monitors the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy.
· Support the internal production order process through to delivery.
· Collaborate with internal teams to understand the material requirements that effect the production schedule.
· Analyze production build plan against inventory and supply chain data to determine demand for material replenishment.
· Manage internal delivery schedules to ensure customer orders arrive ahead of requirement date.
· Track and mitigate excess and obsolescent material.
· Works closely with Planning, Production and Engineering to ensure a smooth flow of parts and finished products.
· Inspects & maintains physical conditions of the production and warehouse areas.
· Prepares Purchase Order Requisitions for supplies and equipment within SAP.
· Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances.
· Create department budgets.

Education and Experience:
· BA or BS required in business, engineering or related fields OR minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
3-5 years relevant sourcing experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel & bend.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
